Q: Why is this jar of honey so expensive compared to others?

A: This isn't just honey; it is a vintage harvest. Just like fine wine or whiskey, high-grade Mānuka honey requires time to develop its power. Our MGO 1050+ has been naturally matured for over 5 years in our temperature-controlled facility. During this time, the natural enzymes slowly convert into high levels of Methylglyoxal (MGO). We do not heat-blast our honey to fake this number. We wait. You are paying for rarity, patience, and the highest concentration of bio-activity nature can provide.

Q: Why does it take 5 years? Can't you just make the bees work harder?

A: Nature cannot be rushed. The Mānuka bush blooms for only 2–6 weeks a year. Once harvested, the honey starts with a high level of a precursor called DHA. It takes years of careful cellaring for that DHA to naturally transform into the potent MGO 1050+ you see on the label.
