Propolis + MGO 823: The Science Behind Our Hand Cream

Author:  Sara Samavati & Dr. Isaac Flitta Why Hands Are The Hardest Skincare Challenge Your hands face more abuse than any other part of your body. They're washed 20-50 times daily, exposed to harsh soaps, subjected to temperature extremes, immersed in water, covered in sanitizer, and constantly touching surfaces that strip away protective oils. Then we expect them to look moisturized, feel soft, and heal quickly from cracks, splits, and inflammation. It's an impossible task—unless you...

Wow, I panicked when I first heard that statement while studying for my Diploma in "Organic Skin Care Formulation"

Our old (dead) skin cells continuously flake away from the surface, and brand-new ones form below the surface, pushing their way up toward the outer layer.

If you can imagine, our skin is more or less similar to an organic protective waterproof coat; it is, after all, the largest organ. One of its primary functions is to protect the living cells from dry air. These cells, also known as the Stratum Basale, contain 80% water.

It takes about 4 weeks for the outer layer of our skin (the epidermis) to be replaced entirely, though this process slows down as we get older.

This is important to bear in mind when you use natural skin care products, such as

Totika Skincare, it usually takes 25-50 days to see results.

To maintain healthy skin, another thing to remember before using any skin care product is the importance of daily cleansing in the morning and at night.

As our skin regenerates during the night, regular morning cleansing is essential to remove the residues of night cream and dead cells. Cleansing at night will remove all the bacteria, pollutants, makeup, and creams you applied during the day, and prepare the skin for rejuvenating night creams.

Without daily cleansing, your skin would be covered with a thick layer of dirt and grime, making it appear oily, greasy, and aged from pore clogging. This could result in redness, dryness and irritation.

Furthermore, daily face cleansing and regular use of moisturisers help keep your skin hydrated. Dehydrated skin looks tired and feels dry, inflamed, rough and rugged.

The daily cleansing helps balance the skin's pH levels, providing sufficient moisture to maintain balanced, healthy skin.

Your daily skin care checklist should include

Totika Facial Cleanser made with High Grade manuka Honey and Bee Propolis

Propolis in our products is from our hives, infused in Pharmaceutical-grade organic vegetable Glycerine. Read more about the fantastic effects of other ingredients here and try it.
